Awbridge Village Hall Committee
Awbridge Village Hall is a key focal point for events in the village and is run as a charitable institution; a non profit organisation by a voluntary management committee of Trustees. All local clubs, societies, the Parish Council and the Church are entitled, as of right, to nominate a member to sit on the Committee, which is elected each year at the Annual General Meeting, usually in September.
After the AGM the Trustees proceed to form a Management Committee from among themselves comprising a Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer with other duties allocated to the remaining members. These duties managing the lettings, arranging repairs, supervising the cleaning of the Hall and looking after all manner of other administrative jobs.
The Committee strives to run the Hall to its best advantage, to keep it in good condition and in particular concentrates on keeping it fully let so that there is enough income to pay for the considerable overheads. The outdoors play area is a part of the complex and continues the Committee’s policy of improving the available facilities for the benefit of all in the village and surrounding area. The field, which contains a football pitch, forms a charming back-drop to the Hall site.
The Trustees all live in the locality and with their range of professional knowledge are able to administer the complex to its best advantage. The Committee are always looking for new members so why not come and join us and help us maintain this great community facility.
